End of a family legacy
NICOLE Sciacca family home is like a treasure chest full of unforgettable memories.
His parents bought late 15 Avoca St, Bondi, in 1974 and remained in the family since.
"They bought the year I was born and the four of us children grew up here," said Ms. Sciacca.
"They moved to Belgrave St, and our history is steeped in Bondi - especially mom as she grew up here too."
Ms. Sciacca said the three-bedroom half house has a "fabulous family."
"He was full of love and laughter and I look back and the six of us lived here comfortably for many years," she said.
"We always had visitors and all our friends from school would come.
"Then later when we traveled abroad friends, we met would stay with us for Mom and Dad ended up with a lot of backpackers."
His own twin daughters Zoe and Evie, 3, also had the chance to carve their own pages in the book of the rich family history.
"My husband and I came to live here just two days before their first birthday," Ms. Sciacca said.
"It was a wonderful experience to see them grow in the same place where I learned to walk and run.
"I am very lucky I got to repeat that with them."
Ms. Sciacca said the time had come for her and her sister Angela, her brother Michael and younger sister Katherine to sell the house.
"It took us a while to accept that we were going to sell, but the time is right.
"We were very fortunate to have been there for 37 years and we had awesome parents and a good life.
"The only thing we take now are the memories."
Some of these include playing with the neighborhood kids and watch the annual Surf City.
"We used to play in the back while he was a dead end and when Mom wanted us to come home, she would simply whistle and we ran home. And each City to Surf we watched the early television, then walk to the beach and watch the end of it.
