A time to celebrate

What a beautiful reason for a celebration! Julie and Bob Fischer celebrated Julie's 10-year survivorship of Inflammatory Breast Cancer (a rare and often misdiagnosed cancer) at a party at their home last Saturday night. Among the 60-plus guests were Julie and Bob's children, Karen Abraham, husband Lisbi, and son, Silas; Kathleen Callahan and husband Matt; and Bobby and wife Amy; Julie's sister, Rosemary Conway; and Bob's brother, Mark and wife, Barbara; as well as many nieces and nephews from the area. Among Ridgewood guests were Ginny Colbeth, Lauren and Ray Litwitz, Chris and Dimetri Meimeris, Doug and Lynn Marion, Greg and Liz Osborn, Angelyn MacWilliams and Ralph Petricone and Celeste (Sedo) and Jay Tini. Bob and Kathleen thanked everyone for their support throughout the years, emphasizing that everyone's help and encouragement was very instrumental in Julie's continued success.

College Club's annual holiday dinner is one of those evenings that people know in advance will be one of the season's highlights: a bunch of good friends enjoying each others' company; lots of hugs; lots of kisses; lots of fun. This year's entertainment, Cherish the Ladies, blended right in, sharing their own love of music and song with a most receptive audience. Having a grand time were, among others, Jo Delaney, Tess Giuliani, Catherine Donnelly, Jean Bechtel, Sue Gillespie, Carol Bald, Claudia O'Rourke, Jim O'Rourke, Kathy and Hervey Blumers, Lynn Curtain, Polly Philipp (who flew home from Florida in time for this event), Liz Lease, Janet Anderson, Jonathan and Jacquie King, Mariana Savastano ("I'm about to become a grandmother!"), Mary Waldron, already talking about College Capers in May, Jane Van Tassel, Jacques Harlow, Mary and Pat Callahan, Kay Gilligan, Jennifer and Ralph Brito, Roberta and Gene Svarre, Miriam and Paul Voight, Barbara Bolger and Don Barley, Diana Hock, Diane Haderthauer, Julie Zier, Ginny and Tom Bryan, Claire Goetz, Miles Greer, Barbara and Jack McCooe, who was celebrating his birthday; everyone sang to him, Iona and Phil Almeida, Eleanor and Chuck Collins, Mary Waldron, Penny Kaspar and Tom Napiorski, Janet Fricke, and even more.
