Decoding Mount McPhee: Is It a Smash Spoiler?

Photos

Viewers will get an immediate - if likely temporary -- answer in the next episode. Thinking more long-term, TVGuide.com quizzed the cast just as they were about to shoot Episode 10. Here's what they had to say when asked, "Is that poster a huge spoiler?"

Christian Borle (Tom, the composer): "Yeah, look at us: Reaching, grasping toward the pinnacle," he said, laughing. "Yeah, I don't know if that suggests anything at all."

Katharine McPhee (Karen, the ingénue): " Jack Davenport calls it Mount McPhee - he gave me a lot of sh-- for that. It's funny. That was the first shot we did that day. Of all the photos we took, I don't think any of us actually thought that was going to be the poster they picked. I was quite surprised. Is it a spoiler? I don't think so, but then again, I don't really know because I don't know what happens at the end of the season yet."

Anjelica Huston (Eileen, the producer) : "You know, both of these girls are totally capable, but you should know we've got a music star coming in, and she's not on the poster," she said, referring to news that Uma Thurman is going to guest-star in the last third of the season as another leading lady eyeing the role of Marilyn. "Who knows where it's going to go in those last five episodes? I'll tell you I'm torn. We go into those rehearsal halls and watch, and sometimes I favor Kat, sometimes I favor Megan. It's a real problem, I bet."

Raza Jaffrey (Dev, Mayor Bloomberg's deputy press secretary and Karen's boyfriend): "You know what's great about that poster is so many people say to me, 'So, of course she's gonna get it isn't she?' and I always say you've got to watch and see. It's not obvious. It's not all clear what's happening. Uma's coming too.
