P-Release: Pennsylvania Ave and Camp Hill Road Construction Update, 8/5
Temporary barrier placement will follow the asphalt placement and has scheduled the traffic switch onto the new pavement on or about August 29th along Pennsylvania Avenue. Once traffic is switched the contractor will begin placing piling for the support of excavation to allow for the construction of the T-Wall around the springhouse on the southeast corner of the intersection. PECO Electric has completed their relocations completely and has cut off the tops of their poles to allow for the other utilities to relocate their facilities to the new poles. Verizon is currently relocating both their aerial and underground facilities. It is anticipated that the majority of all utility work that can impact the schedule of the project should be completed before the project professes into the following stage of construction. Prior to the closing of this section of Camp Hill Road, Allan A. Myers finished the AQUA water line relocation in the area. Verizon will follow the PECO Electric relocations along this section of Camp Hill Road. Allen A. Myers will be installing the drainage pipe runs along the southern leg of Camp Hill Road over the next couple of weeks. Much of this drainage work has been reconfigured in an effort to minimize impacts to local access to Fairwold Lane and private driveways. I've lived near this intersection for 20 years and used it about 15 times per week at various times of the day. I never had a problem with this intersection. Camp Hill Road, north of Pennsylvania Ave, already has too much traffic. With the "improved" intersection, it will probably be worse. Meanwhile bridges all over the state are falling apart. I guess they weren't Shovel ready. Our tax dollars at work!
