News and notes on the PGA Tour's top 20
1. Luke Donald , England: Trying to shake off the critics who want to see the No. 1 player in the World Golf Rankings have at least one major title, Donald shot 68-68 on the weekend in the PGA Championship . However, he stumbled down the stretch both days, making two bogeys on the diabolical final four holes Sunday, and wound up in a tie for eighth. It was his second top-10 finish in a major this year — he also tied for fourth in the Masters. … Donald's 10 finishes in the top-10 this season, including a dominating victory in the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship , have him in perfect position to make a run at the FedEx Cup and the $10 million bonus for winning it. He's third in the point standings heading toward the start of the PGA Tour playoffs next week at the Barclays, and that doesn't figure to change with most of the top players skipping the Wyndham Championship . … Luke was 5-under-par for the day through 15 holes in round three at the PGA, including three consecutive birdies through No. 5 and two more on Nos. 13 and 14, and climbed to within one stroke of the lead at one point. But then he made a bogey on the 15th hole and hit into the water on the final hole to take a double bogey and fall seven strokes back. He was 4-under for the day through 14 holes in the final round before his two late bogeys. Donald gave himself plenty of work to do when he opened with 70-71, carding a double bogey each day.
2. Phil Mickelson , United States: On a course where he finished second a decade ago, and with a leaderboard filled with no-names, Mickelson never could get himself into the hunt in the PGA Championship. After seemingly getting his touch in the majors back with a tie for fourth last month in the Open Championship at Royal St. George's, he could break par only once in his four rounds and wound up in a tie for 19th in the final major of the year. … Even though it has been something of a disappointing season, despite a victory in the Shell Houston Open and two runner-up finishes, Mickelson has played well enough to rank fifth in the FedEx Cup standings with the PGA Tour playoffs starting next week. He has finished in the top 10 of the point standings three times in the four years since the playoff system was implemented but never has won. He finished second to Tiger Woods in 2009. … Lefty had it going at Atlanta Athletic Club only during his 1-under 69 in round three, but all that did was get him to even par for the tournament and seven strokes out of the lead. That's right where he finished, in relation to par, as he closed with his second 70 of the week. Phil ran in four birdies in a span of seven holes through No. 12 on Saturday, but he did not have another stretch rivaling that in the tournament. He finished the day at 69, but he made two bogeys in the last four holes. He was 2-under without a bogey before hitting into the water to make a double-bogey 6 on Friday that left him with a 70. Mickelson averaged 30.8 putts per round, taking at least 30 each day.

- We are back online in our new digs!! You should be able to 'feel' a difference in speed since that move also increased our connection speed to the internet drastically. Over the next couple of days, if you see something that is amiss, please let us know with a past in the Help forum and know we are working on fixing everything as soon as we can, but it will take a few days until everything is fully back to normal. The K-Bikes community exists to promote a friendly, on-line community specifically related to BMW's line of K-series motorcycles. The information on this site is primarily related to the BMW's K-based Sport Touring Motorcycles - the BMW K1200RS, K1200GT, K1200S, and K1200R; however, all riders who share many similar interests amongst the larger BMW rider community are welcome to join in on the fun. And as an addendum to all the oil technospeak in thread Meese mentioned, 5W-40 Rotella synthetic now carries an official JASO MA rating so it meets all of BMW's published requirements (at about $20/gallon instead of $15/quart.) I don't have a clutch squeal issue but those who do seem to report that Rotella has about as much effect as the BMW oil in terms of clutch noise (which unfortunately isn't very much.) Finally, the entire clutch pack, including the Lamellar package, clutch housing and oil-pump sprocket was replaced under warranty at 24k miles. My 08 now has almost 29K miles and it is sweet and silent. Thanks to San Diego BMW for their perserverance and good record keeping. Oh the mysteries of the engineering staff as they would not divulge what differences exist between the two clutch assemblies.
