The thieves are just as excited for you to take a summer trip this Labor Day long weekend, leaving your home vulnerable to crimes related burglary and theft. The British Columbia Automobile Association (BCAA) reminds you to take precautions to protect your home and your belongings before leaving.According to BCAA, summer months are peak times for burglary with the majority of insurance claims related to the theft occurred between July and September. Based on insurance claims data, the most common methods of entry are through windows, doors, or patios.
BCAA insurance claims data also shows in the summer, it is common for items to be stolen from sheds, garages and construction sites such as barbecues and bicycles. Throughout the house break-in, thieves target elements that are generally high value, lightweight and portable, making them ideal for a cash sale easy.The ten most stolen items reported to BCAA Insurance Claims Department include: jewelry, digital cameras, home theater, iPods, CDs, DVDs, cash, gift certificates, video games, and hardware.
"Burglars target unoccupied homes that provide easy access to the house and low visibility," explains director BCAA insurance underwriting. "These conditions are more common during the summer holidays to numerous easy targets for thieves houses. "

He seems to have been a major fault with the voting system online BCAA. When I logged in and tried to vote for road sections, the system automatically defaults to a section of the Trans Canada Highway near Kamloops. I know some other people it happened to as well. Apparently, BCAA would fix it, but even towards the end of the campaign to vote, the system was still failing to Kamloops in the selection of Revelstoke.
Would not it be interesting to have a comparative study of ICBC based on statistics of incidents relating to road conditions, design and traffic volume, compared to public opinion surveys BCAA?
Or a gradual color scale map of the province (similar to patches of forest fire hot or severe weather conditions) available to the public indicating the frequency and severity of the incident in an area and season. I understand some obvious reasons for not publishing the travel itineraries of the most problematic throughout the province during the season. But would not you know?
Have a clear understanding of the problem is an important part of the process to decide on corrective and preventive solutions.
